Check EICR Status & Electrical Safety Records

Electrical Certificate Check

An electrical certificate check helps landlords, agents, tenants and property buyers confirm the status of an EICR certificate and understand whether the electrical installation was recorded as satisfactory or unsatisfactory.

BIM Electrical Group registers EICRs with The Electrical Safety Council where appropriate, giving clients a clearer route to checking certificate status and remedial progress.

Check a registered EICR

Use The Electrical Safety Council certificate search to check whether a registered EICR record can be found. You may need the certificate reference, property address or postcode.

TESC Certificate Search Not every electrical certificate in the UK will appear on this register. It applies where the EICR has been registered with the system.

What if the certificate says unsatisfactory?

Why online EICR checking matters

Electrical safety paperwork is only useful if it can be understood, checked and actioned. A clear certificate checking process helps reduce confusion between landlords, tenants, agents and contractors.

Certificate status should be clear

An EICR should not leave the client guessing. The outcome should be clear: satisfactory, unsatisfactory, or requiring further investigation.

Registered EICRs and TESC

Where EICRs are registered through The Electrical Safety Council , clients can be directed to an online record rather than relying only on email attachments or old PDF copies.

Landlord electrical compliance

For landlords and managing agents, an electrical certificate check is part of a wider compliance process. The certificate should be current, clearly linked to the correct property and properly followed up if unsatisfactory.

Need a new EICR certificate?

If the existing certificate is missing, expired, unclear or unsatisfactory, BIM Electrical Group can carry out a new EICR inspection or quote remedial works based on the current report.
